Best Large Aquariums Reviewed – 55 Gallons to 125 Gallon Tanks 2020

If you love watching fish in an aquarium, it might be a good idea to get a large one as the fish will have more room and you’ll have more to look at.  Some fish also need a lot of room, and therefore you may want to get a larger fish tank.

You will also have to make a note of the room for the tank. For example, if you have a tank over 55 gallons, then you’ll have to plan things out. You will need to figure out the plumbing and the lighting for the tank. This type of tank is going to stay in the room for a long time once you have filled with fish and water.

You will need a secondary sump tank as the larger fish tanks are designed to be used with them. This will hold the temperature control hardware and the filtration system. There are many large fish tanks on the market, but this list will narrow it down to the top three that we feel would make excellent choices for those looking for a large aquarium tank.

If you’re looking for a huge tank, have a look at the Starfire Rimless 80 Gallon. Make sure you’re all set up for this sort of system before you order as it’s a very large tank, and you’ll have a complex setup process to go through. The tank is 32” long, and it’s 24” high. There is a center overflow, and the drain is pre-drilled. In the overflow box, you have return holes. In the package, you get compatible return bulkheads and a drain. You get 2.5” glass and the panels go together well. Overall, this is a nice kit for those who need a spacious room for their fish.

The back of the tank is blacked out, which is a nice feature. It will hide the equipment that you’ll have in the back. The tank is rimless, so you’ll need to be careful with fish that might jump or splash. You could always make a lid for the tank if you prefer. Make sure you don’t knock this tank around as it lacks the braces to strengthen the joins between your glass panels. Check it for leaks before the final setup, but you should be fine. This tank is awesome if you need a lot of room.

  • Very large and sleek
  • Great complete kit
  • Black back hides equipment well
  • As with all big tanks, we worry about strength
